How to run a fair head-to-head broker comparison
Two brokers enter, but what wins? A comparison is only as good as the fields you put in it.
Side-by-side tables make comparison feel objective even when they are not. Which rows appear — and which are left out — quietly decides the winner. Here is how to run a comparison that survives scrutiny.
Separate facts from judgements
A good comparison table keeps three kinds of row visibly apart:
- Facts: fees as published, product lists, entity registrations. These can be sourced and dated.
- Measured values: execution speed, spread sampling, support response times. These need a stated method and a sample window.
- Judgements: scores, verdicts, 'best for X'. These are only trustworthy if the scoring method is published.
Use it on our arena
The BrokerVersus compare tool currently shows facts only, with every pending field labelled 'Not yet assessed'. When scoring arrives, the judgements will sit in clearly marked columns with the method linked on every page — so you can disagree with us with the same data we used.
